FLAGGING TAPE HOUSE

2024
variable configuration, this image: orange flagging tape, red sewing thread
135 x 138 cm
House Erased 116 x 10 cm
House Deflated 134 x 7 x 4 cm
House Inflated 68 x 90 cm
The orange flagging tape is highly visible in the Canadian wilderness, knotted to the lower branches of the trees to mark a trail. I was attracted by the visual marking and its conceptual implication – to find the way home. A 2.8 cm-wide neat, tense line when pulled, the tape becomes a messy mound of coils when collapsed, opening the mind to malleable, sequential design possibilities.
